The challenge
Howdens required a new depot that would offer improved support to their West Yorkshire trade base, part of a wider plan to provide a more localised service across the UK.
The requirements
- A collaborative and tailored approach to appropriately support Howdens’ storage requirements and utilise available space.
- Provide a flexible and cost effective solution that integrates both racking and a mezzanine within the building.
- Design the solution so to consistently maintain minimum stock levels and meets the specific needs of the product range.
How we delivered
- Followed tight deadlines to complete the installation within a timescale of 3 weeks.
- Polypal UK project managed the installation of both the mezzanine and racking, besides associated products.
- Worked collaboratively with the contractor to ensure the installation fitted in between other ongoing construction.
- 43 racking bays, 18 hardware shelving bays, protection barriers and an electrical mesh cage were provided to Howdens, serving a variety of products.
