Wickes Redditch

Key Facts

Client: Wickes Redditch
Sector: DIY Retailer
System Installed: New pallet racking and upgraded three-arm cantilever racking, customer-focused product display and divider systems
Outcome: A modernised store layout that improves customer experience, product visibility operational efficiency

The challenge

Wickes needed to modernise its Redditch store as it was one of the oldest in its estate and untouched for over 20 years. Ageing racking, outdated signage and an ineffective internal garden centre layout were negatively impacting customer experience and store flow. The project had to be delivered while the store remained fully operational, with work carefully phased around other installations and key trading periods.

How we delivered

  • Brand-new pallet racking and cantilever racking, supporting all core product ranges
  • Upgraded three-arm cantilever design for improved load stability and performance
  • Relocation of the garden centre into the external yard, creating a more effective format and freeing internal showroom space
  • Introduction of a new divider scheme, allowing customers to easily identify products by type and function
  • Shorter aisle layouts to improve accessibility, movement and browsing
  • Customer-focused product displays, including laminate flooring, balancing presentation with easy stock replenishment

The Redditch store has been transformed into a brighter, more modern and easierto-navigate environment. Improved product organisation, refreshed racking and better aisle flow have enhanced customer browsing while creating a safer, more efficient workspace for colleagues. The new layout supports Wickes’ ongoing investment strategy, ensuring the store meets modern retail expectations and delivers an improved customer experience without disrupting day-to-day operations.
